About Gaya

Gaya draws inspiration from objects polished by the wear of ordinary use. The kind of use that shapes them to our hands and gives them so much personality. Its design seeks to capture the appearance of those objects whose forms testify to longevity and efficiency. 

Its organic appearance originates from the study of the effects of blur on typography. The result is curved shapes that harmonize with the round forms, creating a fluid expression. This expression is further emphasized in the italic style and is reinforced by a large number of ligatures. 

The warm shapes of Gaya follow the structure of text characters. Its precise design ensures good legibility and balanced typographic texture. Gaya finds its way between independent artistic projects and visual identities for cultural institutions. The typeface has been commercially available since 2020 and is used, for example, in the communication of concert halls and festivals, as well as in the layout of books and magazines.

About Kateka

Kateka is an original creation that borrows some baroque details from the characters of 18th-century Dutch typographer Joan Michaël Fleischmann. Indeed, its aesthetics stem from in-depth research on text typography forms, conducted to create a functional and contemporary typeface directly linked to the history of typography.

Kateka was designed after traditional text typography forms, which were then rationalized and modernized through an innovative approach to digital design. Each glyph has been drawn with as many straight lines as possible. This optimizes its readability on all types of screens while giving it a distinctly modern look.

Its high contrast and the pronounced slant of its italic style confer an elegant flair, allowing it to stand out in headings. Its clean design and precise shapes ensure good reading comfort in body text.

About Naive

Unadorned, spontaneous, and naive.
 Naive is a free interpretation of Bau, a 1970s font designed by Flemming Bau. These intriguing circle-based letters have a strong and direct expression that caught our attention, so we had to take a closer look at Flemming's work. His graphic work, fueled by Danish Viking craftsmanship and ornamentation, reached a global audience thanks to Mecanorma, a former international foundry that used to organize an annual typography competition. Flemming won with Bau in 1972. He told us about it:

 "I was the head designer at Moesgård Museum in Aarhus, working as an exhibition designer and illustrator with archaeological and ethnographic themes – exhibitions, posters, book design, and artifact drawings. For this museum, I created the 'Bau' font, and after that, I designed the entire alphabet for Mecanorma. In a letter to them, I wrote: 'The Bau type is created for rather small spacing. The type is a new, harmonious, compact type, combining psychedelic 'flowing' elements and strict geometric construction."

 We have imagined Bau in a new light adding uppercases, thanks to a geometric drawing system. Today, these powerful shapes have returned to the contemporary graphic design landscape as a fully functional font. Naive, yes, but not foolish! From edgy headlines to freaky logotypes and psychedelic posters, these shapes resist instant reading, making them ideal for all kinds of graphic productions that need to catch the eye and surprise the reader.

About Craft

Craft draws its inspiration from the history of titling typography, particularly from that of ancient wooden characters. With a rustic charm as a strong foundation, its design takes another path to break away from conventional typographic norms. Bold and alternative, it pushes the boundaries of legibility to craft words and phrases that won't go unnoticed. It's the typeface for creating a daring visual identity and boldly conveying impactful messages.

 Its design is the result of exploring letterforms within a limited scope: all glyphs are contained within the x-height, and seamlessly connect with each other. These unique features can be customized by the user by activating the third OpenType functionality. Accents extend above the x-height and below the baseline to enhance readability.

Craft is a display typeface with a rustic charm. Bold and alternative, it pushes the boundaries of legibility to craft words and phrases that won't go unnoticed.
